Hair tips for the Biker chick
Riding a bike to work or for sheer fun can wreck havoc to your hair. Exposure to the sun and the wind can strip off moisture from your tresses and tangle them like nothing else.
You are not going to let that keep you from having all the fun, are you? Keep up the ruff and tuff thing going and zip around like a proud biker – with dazzling hair of course!
Make the helmet your best bud
The safety factor of a helmet cannot be emphasised enough. Besides that, it also protects your mane and skin from the harsh elements and pollution. So ladies, slip on a stylish one and do yourself a favour!
Say it with scarves and caps
If you do not want to mess up your hairdo with a helmet, wrap around a colourful scarf. Think of innovative ways to wear it (skip the conventional nun-ish style) and paint the town red with your new suave look. Short-haired lasses could consider baseball caps or brimmed hats. Make sure they are tight enough to hang on while speeding!
Pamper those tresses
Just like your skin, your lustrous locks need sunscreen too! Pick up a serum or conditioner with an SPF and rub it on before you mount your bike. Oil your tresses often to take care of the damage done by the sun and wind. A nourishing hair pack once a week also replenishes lost nutrients and moisture.
Styling it right
We know how tempting it is to ride a bike with a long mane flowing behind, but tying it up is always a wise option. Sweep your hair back into a sleek style to and keep it off your face. You can always restyle it once you reach your destination.
For very long hair, it’s always better to adopt a braided style in order to minimise tangles and breakage.
Keep them squeaky clean
All said and done, use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair often. The dirt and sweat can cause grime to build up on your scalp. Keep you mane clean to avoid dandruff and hairfall.
Banish rough, dry, messy hair forever and zoom away into the sunset with your crowning glory! 🙂
Say ‘goodbye’ to Dandruff
Every time you comb your hair or wear your favourite LBD, you are emm…embarrassed by those snowy flakes. Dandruff is ugh and causes problems like itching and acne.
So, we are here for your rescue with these homemade tips to get rid of dandruff nuisance.
Root cause
Dandruff is a scalp ailment and can be cured by keeping your scalp squeaky clean. You can keep those snowy flakes away by avoiding excessive use of shampoos and skipping fried stuff and chocolates.
Homemade wonders
Boil a few neem leaves. Cool and then filter the solution. Use this as a last rinse after you shampoo.
You can also mix a few sweet neem leaves with basil (tulsi) leaves, grind it into a paste and apply it on your hair for half an hour. Wash this off to get lustrous locks.
Grandma’s advice
Soak a handful of fenugreek seeds overnight in water, grind it to a fine paste in the morning and apply it for a half hour on your scalp. Wash this off with soap-nut (reetha) solution and rinse with shikakai to condition.
Follow this regimen faithfully and your crowning glory will soon start fetching you compliments!
Bedtime care
You can also boil beetroot in water and gently massage the liquid into your hair before sleeping. You can also opt for a half hour massage each night with stale curd (if you can stand the smell) or a simple concoction of lime and amla juice.
Curd is an excellent conditioner, while lime keeps that dandruff away.
Warm up
The most popular method, of course, is to gently massage warm coconut oil onto your scalp and then apply the juice of two limes.
Ideally, this should be followed by turban therapy (steaming the scalp with a hot towel). Wash it off after two hours. This is a good routine to follow on weekends.
Use this
If you can’t eat it, then simply use it! Apply the paste of raw papaya on your hair and leave it on for 10 minutes before shampooing.
There you are! Try these homemade tricks to get rid of dandruff forever. 😉
